Most "gold" jewellery is a thin layer of plating over brass — it flakes fast and hates the ocean. We start with 304 and 316 surgical-grade stainless steel, then bond 18k gold to it using physical vapor deposition (PVD): a vacuum process that fuses gold at a molecular level instead of dipping it on.
The result wears 10–15x longer than standard gold plating and holds its color well through salt water, chlorine, and sweat — roughly 3 years of vibrant, everyday wear.
